It is most certainly not to be used to harm any of the marine life which dwell deep underwater. The knives can also be used as a tool to protect the divers from harmful predators, underwater. Diving knives are sold in many different sizes and shapes, mostly made of stainless steel and titanium and they are usually razor sharp with a jagged edge. The knives vary in size, usually from two inches to six inches, out of which the smaller sized knives are preferred, due to efficiency as well as the decreased chance of a casualty. Divers are spoilt for choice when it comes to selecting an ideal diving knife. There are usually two options regarding the edge of the knife. While some may have a jagged edge, others are non – jagged. The jagged edged knives are extremely reliable in snipping all forms of chords, ropes and other sorts of material. The sharp edged/sharp-tipped knives should be utilized with caution as these are extremely dangerous.One of the features of the diving knife is that it can be kept anywhere on the body, particularly a place where the diver will be able to conveniently, reach for the knife, be it the arm, waist, back or any other body part of the body.It has to be noted that the knife needs to remain non corroded after being submerged into brackish water.
